GUARD AND PATROL (SUPERVISE SECURITY OFFICERS)

Course Objective: 

Individual is able to gain knowledge and apply skills to function in a supervisory role. Eligible participants will learn to supervise junior and senior security officers and be able to apply them in their workplace.


Course Outline


Study security operations procedures

  1. Retrieve and study security operations procedures

  2. Record relevant information for site inspection

  3. List details of security operations procedures and formulate site inspection checklist

  4. Ensure safety, security and confidentiality for all information


Supervise direction of security officers

  1. Schedule security officer duties effectively

  2. Allocate security officer duties and responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner

  3. Conduct briefing/roll call clearly and accurately before commencement of work

  4. Take appropriate actions when encountering problems in supervision of security officers


Supervise control of security officers

  1. Use appropriate interpersonal skills to address problem

  2. Take immediate/appropriate action to handle situation when security officers encounter problems/difficulties in carrying out duties

  3. Maintain discipline of security officers and take appropriate action when necessary

  4. Conduct coaching and counseling to assist them in meeting performance standard

  5. Monitor security officers to ensure that required level of security service is maintained to meet clients needs


Supervise emergency situations

  1. Brief security officers on organisational procedures to be adopted during emergencies

  2. Check security duties to ensure they are performed in accordance

  3. Review emergency site plan regularly

  4. Take immediate action (on being informed of an emergency) to handle situation



Course Duration:

24 Hrs (3 Days), Excluding lunch break.

(9am - 6pm x 3 Days)


Assessment Details:

An assessment of 2 hours will be conducted by POLWEL at Etann Security Consultant Pte Ltd. Results will be made known immediately after assessment. 


Certification Details:

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued for each module graded competent. SOA reflected as SEC-SOP-3007-1.1 Guard and Patrol.
